Versuch, bitte, das für mich so peinliche Ereignis vom 8. April vor unseren Freunden geheimzuhalten. Ich befürchte eine Flut an Glückwünschen in der Art: ... 'noch viele Jahre‘ ... etc. Ein Österreicher hat die Indiskretion begangen, in den deutschen Zeitungen zu schreiben, dass ich meine 70 Jahre bald feiern (!) würde. Gott sei Dank wird in Frankreich diesen deprimierenden Zahlen keine Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt. In den germanischen Ländern ist hingegen der Sinn des Lächerlichen nicht sehr ausgeprägt.

Es wird - hier nicht zum ersten Mal - dringend empfohlen, sich deutlich für Ersteres zu entscheiden.

Das Nicht-sein bzw. Nichts-mehr-sein kommt schneller als man denkt.
Für irgendwelche Entscheidungen jeglicher Art ist es dann unwiderruflich zu spät.
